Overnight Scrapbook Retreat

Okay, so I got home on Sunday evening (exhausted), but had to leave within an hour for another call meeting and have been trying to catch up (on sleep and other things) ever since then.

This is a picture of my two roommates working away at their albums. I was at the table in the upper left , across from Vickie (in the blue). She and Dawn were my roommates and we had great fun playing jokes on each other.

I completed 43 pages which is less than I had hoped, but considering I didn't arrive till 9:45 p.m. and get started scrapping till 10:30, it wasn't too bad. I am hoping to photograph some layouts and get them posted a little later today. I am particularly happy with my winter photo layouts and am thinking of getting them color copied and framed.

Gotta run! I'm still not caught up and there is always plenty more to do.

I survived.....

Our huge weekend, but boy am I dragging today! We are all glad to be able to stay home all day today and only have to venture out for music practice tomorrow evening, then midweek classes on Wednesday and pick up my coop order on Thursday. Then another big weekend starts (this is what our Februarys are starting to look like every year!).

Good thing I can be home for a while.....the laundry still accumulates while you are gone. All the stuff you aquire while you are gone has to find a home (or be dealt with) when you get home. I think I need to spend an hour or two filing and sorting tonight and then perhaps I can work on organizing my stuff for the weekend overnight crop at the church camp. The pictures aren't going to sort themselves........

Busy, Busy Month for us

I will be attempting to post frequently this month, but not perhaps as frequently as I have been. The scrapbook challenge forced me to get my layouts photographed and uploaded daily and since I was already on the computer, it was easy to post to the blog.

We have a number of meetings that we will be attending this month. Hubby is speaking a couple of times and we'll be going with him. We are hoping to get some historical field trips in when we go with him, so will need to begin researching those things asap.

Headed to my nephew's birthday party after church tomorrow. Many many things to do before bed and church in the morning so I will sign off.

Just have to add, that we met the nicest family at the 2 day farming conference we had a booth at this weekend. They farm the same way we do, they homeschool and they have 4 children ranging in age from 8-14 (2 boys, 2 girls). Our kids attended the children's programming at the conference and immediately hit it off and will become penpals. It was so neat and we got to have dinner with the parents last night and found out we have so much in common. Thanks God! That was pretty cool!
Susan tagged me with this meme. Here are the instructions:

Instructions
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.

There were no books on my desk, so I grabbed one off the bookshelf directly behind my office chair: Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years by S. Fred Singer and Dennis T. Avery
Sentences 6-8 on page 123:

"In the coming warming centuries, we will undoubtedly be able to produce enough food from the land that gets good weather in any given year to supply all of the world's food needs. Equally important, we will be able to store food safely from years of plenty to ensure food abundance in lean year: all it takes are inexpensive concrete silos and modern pesticides to keep the rats and bugs from feasting on our food reserves before we need to draw on them. Thanks to modern transportation, we will also be able to transport the food, whereever it is grow, to whereever in the world it is needed. "

Just for the record, my uncle sent this book to my hubby a couple of years ago and neither one of us has read it, so we have no idea if we agree with much of anything in it. End of disclaimer.......

Now I will tag: Amy, Dawn, Pam, Glenda and Melody
